It@ab – InWent Maputo Workshop

On Tuesday 06th June 2006, 29 it@ab IT Specialists headed for Maputo, Mozambique for the It@ab - InWent workshop. Everybody was received warmly by the Mozabique team and the workshop started the next day (Wednesday). The IT specialists were from the 3 groups that undertook training in Germany and this was the first time for most of them to meet in one place.
The workshop was 6 days of technical training and networking for the it@ab Alumni's, and it also included a Hacker's night presented by Hans Peter and a few of the Security specialists from Maputo.

It was a happy occassion as not only were the IT Specialists being updated with the latest on FOSS, by their trainer Hans Peter Merkel, but they were exchanging stories and experiences from Germany and there was a lot of laughter. The workshop took place at the start of the Soccer World Cup, which started off with a game of Germany vs Costa Rica, and we were ofcourse supporting Germany (who by the way won the match 4 – 2). The group was also treated to a Mozambique night at the Matrix Group offices. The workshop ended of with a server and a few machines being handed over to a local school.
