The way forward Nelson Chamba and Hans-Peter Merkel were welcomed at the IT Department of the Ministério do Interior (Interior Ministry) by the head of the Department, Eng°. Miquidade. First Nelson Chamba introduced Hans-Peter Merkel to the Polices team and started explaining the main reason of the visit. First he started telling what the IT Department could expect from Hans-Peter a security expert from Germany, the man with almost all solutions on security and whatever the Police wants or could implement can be found with him. NC told as well where HPM come from, that he is a official forensic trainer for the Police Academy in Germany and he has a lot of experience on forensic analysis, working with police, conducing training on security and implementing security solutions. After that Eng°. Miquidade, the Head of IT Department stated sharing the vision giving a brief overview or history about the IT infrastructure at the Interior Ministry, what are they goal, what they had reached so far, which services are already running and how they were implemented and the way forward combining with the new know-how or ideas brought by Hans-Peter during the meeting. Nelson Chamba brought up the AGUMBAs (a Company member of the IT@AB Network) approach in Tanzania conducing a security training and inviting other companies to join, Hans-Peter supported it by explaining the security project in details, what they did and how they reached that stage he showed the Police team the topics discussed in the training conduced in Tanzania, the police team showed they desire to participate on a training like that, HP shared with them the security eLearning platform www.4n6.de and all the topics discussed there, he showed what is available for everybody who attended a training like the one conduced on Tanzania. HP told that a second part of that event will take place in Tanzania next August 2006. Eng°. Miquidade showed they desire to get this know-how to the police team and ideas like joining the next training in August in Tanzania was giving by HP, a sort of evaluation to know how a similar training can be run here in Mozambique. The meeting ended with business cards exchanges, thank you messages from both sides and homework on how to join the Tanzania training and run the same here Maputo, Mozambique. by Nelson Chamba
