Basic
concept

In Malawi like other Southern African countries women and girls have limited perspectives as they make their choice of career. Consequently their participation in areas such as mathematics, science, computing and engineering remains very low. Examples of the low representation of women in these traditionally men-dominated areas are many. This project will disseminate information to motivate those women who want to venture into such disciplines.

Detailed Description

The objective of this project is to create women role model information portal based on successes in computing, science, mathematics and engineering for women to motivate young women to enter scientific and computing disciplines which are traditionally men-dominated areas.

This project will create high quality web based content, news, mailing lists and discussion forums. Using electronic publications and newsletters the portal will offer opt in mailing lists of motivational women role models in non-traditional academic and professional careers.

„I hope the information that this project will give, will be enough motivation for young ambitious who want to pursue a career in the sciences but are scared to take that path!”
