| Basic
concept |
Chancellor College currently has many students, than space
and facilities with which to accommodate them. Classrooms
(which includes chairs and desks), and computers, are not
enough for the current student population. Some students who
have come into the college as Parallel Program students have
to find their own accommodation outside the campus –
which limits
higher learning opportunities, only to those who can afford
privateaccommodation, or those who stay close to the college.
The worst deficiency is unavailability of books. Sometimes
the ratio of important books can be as bad as one book to
thirty students. |
Detailed Description
|
The aim behind this project is to provide web-based and
CD-ROM based training to the many Malawian nationals seeking
to further their education. This will involve members of
the project team putting in place a web site and an information
server that will support this kind of training system. The
project will also involve production of course material
that will eventually be made available to students via the
web.
The project, will provide more flexible solutions to learning
so that people can learn as they work or structure their
learning according to their income capabilities. |
„With this project my country will have
a more flexible system of teaching and learning, and many
people will also be provided with access to higher education”
(Tiwonge Davis Manda)
„The project will ensure a flexible way
of learning”
(Sianga Nyambe)
